Worthy of note is the fact that only those who have received a Short Message Service (SMS) can go and collect their National Identity Cards as directed in the Short Message Service (SMS). Also note that it is unlawful to direct someone else to collect your National Identity Card on your behalf. This implies that no one else can collect your National Identity Card for you. Also note that to qualify for a National Identity Card, you must first be enrolled and have a National Identification Number (NIN).
==> Step 1

You must have received an SMS from National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

==> Step 2: Collection Centre

Go to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Collection Centre indicated in the

Short Message Service (SMS) sent to you. Take your National Identification Number (NIN) and the slip you printed during your enrollment process. Mention the Batch ID on the Short Message Service (SMS) you received.

==> Step 3: Envelope Given / Received
Receive your National Identity Card in a sealed envelope. Open the envelope, take out the Card, and sign on the space provided at the back – after reading the contents. Please keep all the inserts in the envelope safely.
==> Step 4: Biometric Verification
Do a Biometric Verification to confirm that it is your Card. This also confirms that the Card has been printed properly.
==> Step 5: PIN Number Selection
After biometric verification, you will be required to enter a FOUR (4) DIGIT NUMBER chosen by you to activate your National Identity Card.
==> Step 6: Fund Loading
There is a provision for fund loading at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Collection Centre. You can equally do actual Cash Loading at any branch of ACCESS BANK nationwide. Note that Cash Loading is the process of funding your card with money so you may use it for cash withdrawal on Automatic Teller Machines (ATM).
